The steps are as the following: ( a text file explanation is included with the download)
"DO NOT EXTRACT ANY OF THE USED FILES"
First: Have an entire backup of your phone data, in case of a failure.
Second: Turn off your phone then start your phone in download mode "Down button + Home button + switch Button".
Then up button to say yes and enter the download mode.
Third: Open Odin program then put the update rom 4.3 in the PDA and start.
The phone will restart with the new update 4.3.s
Fourth: Again go to the download mode and also the same again with the Odin
and this time put the recovery file. the phone will restart.
Fifth: Before going to the recovery mode, make sure that you copy the two files.
The SuperSu and the Google play file (yourZgapps), to your local or external memory.
Sixth: Turn off your phone and go to the recovery mode, Up button + Home button + switch button.
Then up button to say yes and enter the recovery mode.
Seventh: Now you just need to install the two files (SuperSU and google store).
Unfortunately, yet, there is no English version in this recovery and instead this is
a Chinese version. However, you can see some English word in the choices.
In the first screen you can read "zip" click it then you go to another screen.
You can see "sdcard" in one option and "external" in another. Choose one of them
according to the place you have copied your files. The next screen you can navigate
to the file and install it as usual.
Do the installation to the both files and after you finish just touch the go back sign until it
goes out and reboot.
Congratulations: now you have an official rooted rom 4.3 with Google play in I9502
Issues may occure:
*Android upgrades whenever I turn my mobile on?
1. Download and install Root Explorer.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree&hl=en
2. Navigate to “/system/framework/†using Root Explorer, click on “Mount R/Wâ€.
3. Find these files:
com.google.widevine.software.drm.jar
com.google.widevine.software.drm.odex
4. Either add “.bak†to the end of the file names, or delete them.
* Change Boot animations and audio?
Download:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/49jsnbs899x5/Samsung_i9502_boot_screen_files.zip
The below two files are for the startup boot animation:
\system\media\bootsamsung.qmg
\system\media\bootsamsungloop.qmg
These can be changed with the stock Samsung files (downloaded). When I however tried removing these completely,
the device would no longer lock and unlock, the screen stayed on constantly. So I only recommend replacing these,
not deleting them altogether. Also, when these are deleted, the boot process isn't any quicker, you simply see
a black screen instead of a logo, which makes the startup feel longer.
The below file is for the shutdown animation, you can either replace this with the Samsung one (downloaded) or delete it altogether.
\system\media\shutdown.qmg
These two files are for the startup and shutdown sounds, you can replace them with the Samsung ones (attached) or remove them altogether.
\system\media\audio\ui\PowerOn.ogg
\system\media\audio\ui\PowerOff.ogg
Still trying to figure out how to remove the WO 3G boot screen that displays on the device as soon as you turn it on, not sure where this file is located.
I used Root Explorer to move the files around on the device, and recommend renaming the old files (add .bak to the end) rather than deleti
*How do I remove the Chinese text in the phone app?
1. Navigate to Settings > My device > Call > Phone number locator
2. Uncheck “Enable PNLâ€
