Notice na lng po if nasa wrong section.

Seamless connectivity between pc and android, similar to using network locations on pc (lan). Very useful po sa multi-tasking, like taking photos from phone and then rendering naman to pc. You won't have to use cable anymore just connect both devices (pc and android) to the same wifi gagana na sya.

What can you do with it?

- Play vidoes directly from your pc to your android smartphone (works best with mx player).
- view files as they are in windows explorer. Create, delete, and read.
- Para syang pc server/peer to peer connection except android lang ung client (other methods allow android to be used as a network location inside windows, ill write that later na lng po).

Tools needed:

- Mixplorer, or any file manager with SAMBA client.
- PC or lappy, syempre.
- basic networking skills, too lazy to mention LAN networking since given na yata to na knowledge to every technician, pardon me if im wrong :).

SETTING UP NETWORK

- make sure na lahat ng file sharing options sa windows ay enabled (discovery, permissions, sharing policies, etc.), except sa password protected sharing.

- check folders you wish to keep private in case someone logs-in anonymously through samba client. I recommend creating a dedicated folder for shared files para lang sa sharing method na to. Mine for example i named it "CENTRAL SHARING" with all permissions granted, with my private folders having read only permissions, or shared to specific users/computers only.

- make sure router is in default configuration, only dashboard account, SSID, and password should be touched. Using static IP po is allowed, basta wala lang po tayong lockdown policies (windows server).

NOTE: The samba share you just made through wifi won't work when switching the pc/laptop to wired connection, and vice versa. To fix that you must create a separate samba share for each type of connection, one for wireless and one for wired.

FAQ:

1: Will it work if i connect my android to the same wifi but pc is on a wired connection?
- it will, as long as it is on the same network.

2: Will i be able to browse files stored on my smartphone directly through windows explorer?
- no, you will need a samba server on your smartphone for that. As a workaround, you can simply transfer the files you want to browse to your pc and access it from there.

Hope this will prove useful po :)
