Brand | Model Acer Aspire E14
Board id:
DAZ8VRMB8EO
REV: E
problem : shorted cap from power rail ( input capacitor )
solution : inject 5v to determine shorted components
at primary power rail there is 19v.
at diode 19v present.
at primary mosfet drain lines 19v present
but at source lines no output..at gate also no voltage. source pins 123 are short to ground.
check input capacitor from power supply area
power supply section have coils and input caps.also have small mosfets.and output caps with voltage number printed.
we must inject 5v.
plug red and black probe wire to dc bench or power supply. set to 5v
tap black probe to ground.
tap red probe to current sense resistor with r01 printed.
this resistor located beside primary mosfet.
observe board if theres heating components.
try apply alcohol or lighter fluid to area that getting hot ( or heating )
observe who's immediately dry or getting hot.
remove faulty cap then replace.
and i found capacitor shorted ( input capacitor )
after remove check again..short is gone.replace cap same size from scrap board. ( 25v or 5 microfarad )
