Pre Requisites
Before we tell you how you can install stock KitKat rom on Asus Zenfone 4, let’s have a look at pre requisites.

To enter in bootloader mode you can also switch off your device and press combination of Power + Volume up buttons. The choice is entirely yours.

Before we tell you how you can install stock KitKat rom on Asus Zenfone 4, let’s have a look at pre requisites.
- Your Asus Zenfone 4 should have more than 80% of battery in it.
- Download and install Intel Android driver along with Asus Android driver on your computer.
- Download ADB and rooting tools on your computer.
- This method is only valid for Asus Zenfone 4 A400GC model. If you try to apply the same method on any other model your device might get bricked. Go to Settings > About Phone to check the model of your Asus Zenfone 4.
- USB debugging should be enabled on your device. To enable USB debugging go to Settings > About Phone > Tap build number 5-8 times. Go back to Settings > Developer Options and enable USB debugging.
- Download the stock KitKat rom files for your Asus Zenfone 4.

- Extract the downloaded ADB rooting tools and place them on a folder in your computer.
- You will see CMD file, open it and a command window will appear.
- In the command window enter the command mentioned below.

- Once you have entered the bootloader menu enter the commands shared below.
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase system
- Now copy the img file you downloaded for your Asus Zenfone 4 and place it in ADB tools folder. Once the file has been copied enter the commands shared below. As there are 4 firmwares available of the Asus Zenfone 4 select the command for you firmware and enter in the command prompt.

fastboot flash system 4.3.11-system-image.img.gz
For firmware 6.5.32
fastboot flash system 6.5.32-system-image.img.gz
For firmware 6.5.34
fastboot flash system 6.5.34-system-image.img.gz
For firmware 6.5.35
fastboot flash system 6.5.35-system-image.img.gz
- Once flashing is complete reboot your device and your device will be running on stock android Kitkat.
