1.Power down device. Then remove the battery. Reinsert it.
2. Press and hold both the VOLUME DOWN/UP key simultaneously and POWER button until you see the second Att logo. Let go!
3. You will enter android recovery. Scroll with the volume button to Factory Reset. Select and confirm with the power button / HOME KEY / MENU KEY.
4. Next screen confirm and select yes delete all user data.
5. Reboot system now.
4. Done. Your Samsung Galaxy S Captivate i897 is now Factory Restored.
