HELP ME Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (www.microsoft.com) is not responding

I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:

Using the Network troubleshooter in Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Using-the-Network-troubleshooter-in-Windows-7

Method 2:

Change the TCP/IP settings and check if the issue persists.

Method 3:

You may also follow these steps and check if it helps.
a. Click on Start button.
b. Type ‘cmd’ in the Start Search box and press enter.
c. Right click on the “cmd” and run as administrator.
d. Type the following commands and press Enter.
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
e. Close the command prompt.

Method 4:

You may reset the TCP/IP stack by running the “Fix it” tool from this link or follow the instructions to fix it yourself.

Method 5:

Reset the Winsock protocol and check if it helps.
a) Click Start, and in Start Search, type cmd.
b) Right-click the cmd entry that appears in the search results, and then clicks Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
c) At the command prompt, type the following, and then press ENTER:
netsh winsock reset
Then, you should see the following message:
Successfully reset the Winsock Catalog. You must restart the computer in order to complete the reset.
d) Restart the computer.
